Riley decided to walk the grounds to estimate how much work lied ahead of Artemis, himself and the others in order to restore Hogwarts to its day of academic glory.
Riley stopped at the lake, standing at the water’s edge he was disheartened by its appearance. The water looked murkier than ever is was still and pungent. There was almost a visible steaming stench radiating from it. It was clear that the Death Eaters were filthy creatures, so occupied with enforcing fear and terror on the school they neglected to care for the essentials of the grounds. As Riley continued to look out into the muddy water he could make out debris of the castle structure that apparently plummeted into the lake during the fighting. Only the tops of the wreckage were visible the rest of the structures remained submerged in the darkness of the water.
Riley wiped his hand down his face in distress and then scratched at the back of his head trying to wrap his mind around the seemingly insurmountable task that lay ahead of them.

Lacey, getting quite bored from the rants she got from Aisling on how to behave and the empty common room, walked outside the castle to check out the view. All her life had she heared story's about hogwarts and how amazing it must have been. And now finally she was there, the place that used to be the most enchanted in the world. This place really needed some work. But Lacey was determined to be here and restore it to its former glory. No matter what all the other people said. Eventually they wouldn't be able to deny that hogwarts is in good hands now and that it forever will be the best wizarding school around.
As her feet led her towards an enormous tree her eyes almost buldged out of her skull. She had kicked a pebble towards the tree and it suddenly started beating around itself frantically. She backed off quickly, a bit too quickly, as she stumbled against the man who had been watching the lake for quite some time now. "I'm sorry Mister." She mumbled under her breath, looking at the floor, afraid she would get into trouble.

Riley continued to stare out into the still water of the lake as he made himself a mental list of priorities of all that needed to be done in order to make the school functional again and appealing enough to lure new students.
As he stood alone in silence something suddenly collided into the back of him. The impact forced him to loose his footing and stumble forward. He was able to regain his footing quick enough however; to turn around and catch the fall of a young girl who tripped into him.
"You're fine, no worries!" He replied to her apologies. "Are you O.K./ I believe that nasty rock was the cause of your spill! I must say of the numerous amounts of debris around here you managed to stumble over something nature put here!"Riley said with a smile so that she didn't feel too embarrassed.
"I dont believe we have met, but I assume you are a new student here?" Riley asked but his look instantly became quizzical because as he asked he felt he had known her somehow. As he waited for her to reply he studied her features trying to discern what about her brought back memories.

Lacey smiled at the man as he excused her from what had just happened. She was raised in a very stern envirement. So the view moments she was lucky enough to meet someone this nice, she tried to take the best out of it. As she regained her posture she looked down at the rock he was pointing at slightly blushing.
As he asked her who she was she couldn't help but notice the slight change of heart. his face had been so gentle untill he asked for her name. Somehow something she did had ruined the moment. "I'm Lacey and yes, I'm a student." She said with a smile, trying to win back the smile on his face. "You might know my aunt, Aisling?"

Riley smiled when she blushed, it lit up her face and again played with his mind trying to recall who she reminded him of. He listened as she spoke and when she said her aunt was Aisiling he froze he was flooded with all sorts of emotions. He knew with out a doubt that this was the daughter of Rory. He mind drifted away from their conversations, hearing sounds of her voice but not making out the words she was forming.

Riley walked out to the lake. Spotting her god-father and some girl. " Hey, whats up?" she asked as she came to rest near a rock. " I just got released from the hosptial wing. Anxiety issues apparently. Thats what me and Paeton think. I'm Riley, named after Professor Dakmot here, who are you?" she asked Lacey.

Paeton noticed Riley had walked down to the lake. " Hey, you ok? You feeling better?" Paeton asked as she went to her sister and hugged her.
" I had noticed that you had come down here, rather than you know, relaxing like I asked you to?" Paeton said.

The numbness that had enveloped Riley's body as he reminst about Rory and the thought that this was her daughter began to fade as two high pitch voices began to pierce his ear drums and brought him back to reality. When he awoke from his daydream he saw his two god daughters standing next to Lacy.
"Hi there girls! Good to see you have found your way to Hogwarts safely. How are your accommodations thus far?"

Paeton laughed. " Everythings fine, minus Ri here having an anxiety attack. I found her in the wing,crying out to the both of us. Thankfully Professor Ravena kept her calm. Other than that I am totally fine." she said sighing and going to hug Riley. " Though I would like to say that I think I should've stuck in day school. I miss mum and da." she said

Riley fell silent. " Who knows what happened. I just know I wasn't feeling well and all of a sudden i freaked out." she sighed and went to Riley. " So whats up?" she asked as she walked to him and hugged him.

Riley embraced the two girls into a bear hug for he was very excited that they would be attending school here this year. "Have you girls signed up for your charms class yet? I hear there is a fantastic teacher for that class" Riley said with a playful wink.
This a new friend of mine that I have just met her name is Lacy!" Riley said with a smile at his god daughter's question.

A bit uncomfortable with the fact that she didn't get a reaction to her question Lacey looked at the professor standing in front of her. It wasn't long before the silence was disturbed by a chirpy girl that quickly introduced herself. Before Lacey got a chance to react to the Riley's question, the girl was overthrown by questions coming from another young girl that looked a lot like her, and the man Lacey had accidentally bummed into.
Once the girl started answering about her accomadations it finally hit Lacey what had just been said. The man she had been waiting to meet for years was standing right in front of her. The only key to the truth about the little hope had that she in fact had one parent that fought for the greater good, was standing right in front of her nose.
Not even caring that she was about to disturb the conversation the three were having she looked up at the professor and stammered: "You're Riley Damkot?" Her bottom lip shivered as she looked at the man she had been wanting to meet for so long. Before the big fight, her mother had written Lacey a letter incase the worst case scenario, this being her death, would come true. Explaining everything Lacey would want to know about her parents and more. In it she left the one precious item she had ever gotten to the most precious thing she had ever gotten, She wanted Lacey to have her engagement ring. It wasn't untill Lacey was 12 that she had found the letter and ever since she kept the ring on close to her heart, hanging on a silver necklace.
"I think this belongs to you.." She said as she quickly got the necklace from around her neck and placed the ring on the palm of her hand, holding it out for Riley to see.

"Hey girls it's getting late perhaps you should start heading back to the castle and get prepared for your big day tomorrow!" Riley said trying to send the girls on their way so that he could concentrate on the matter at hand. Which in this case was a much too familiar piece of jewelry held in Lacey's hand.
"You're Riley Damkot?
By the weakness in her voice and sadness in her eyes at the unveiling of his name he knew.
"She told you I assume! Please come have a seat"Riley said directing her to a soft patch of grass near the lake. Riley started growing nervous at the situation but in the back of his mind he knew this day would one day come. "I know you don't know me but obviously you know how close your mother and I were. Please ask as many questions you may have. The memory of her should not be forgotten and if I can offer any consoling I would like

Lacey followed as Riley walked to a patch of grass and seated himself. She sat down and started fidgeting with a strand of grass she had plucked. "I'm not sure what to ask. I can't remember her." She said her smile turning into a frown as she tried to swallow the lump that was forming in her throat. "She died before i got to know her." A tear rolled down her cheek. Even though she didn't know her mother, she felt a bigger connection with the few words she had left of her mother than the millions Aisling had dumped on her over the years. "I only have her picture and the few opinions my aunt has about her. But, you knew her." with this she looked up at Riley with an almost pleading look in her eyes. "You loved her, enough to want to hold her forever. What was she really like Mr. Damkot?"
She paused for a minute, her body shaking from anxiety, what if he like all the others just dismissed her? saying there's nothing to talk about? The thought of that made her feel even worse than she had felt in all these years while looking for this man.
